Okay, so the question is:
“How to become a successful mentor?”
Look at the 2 words:
Successful Mentor.
What’s the first word?
Successful.
Exactly!
Most people who want to become great mentors don’t understand that you can’t help others with something you haven’t helped yourself with.
A f-at person can’t make you th-in.
A copycat-type-coach can’t make you an original one.
So, step 1 is to BECOME successful before becoming a mentor.
Step 2 is to develop the skill to EXTRACT the vision of the person you want to mentor.
It’s not by simply asking: “What’s your vision?”
Nope!
Like I said, it’s a skill. I can’t teach you right in ONE email.
Step 3 is to understand the roadblock of the mentee/client.
And step 4 is to help them create a personality-based PATHWAY (or plan) and help them follow through.
Creating a personality-based pathway is mission critical if you want people to win.
Asking your neighbor who can’t swim to swim across English channel because Michael Phelps can do it...is naive. Plus your neighbor will not give you Diwali Mithai anymore (in case he’s ALIVE after that). Hehe
Similarly, giving SAME pathway to all can kill their growth.
Discover what’s called PERSONALITY-BASED communication system.
Get to know which personality they are. And then instruct them based on that- so that they do what you say WITHOUT resistance. Kinda like showing a dog a cookie and walking- it follows you wherever you go. Show the same cookie to a goat and it will not even look at you.
Makes sense?
See what motivates an individual.
You can’t learn it by following any popular social media guru’s “digital course.” Nope!
Takes REAL-life experience.
